Welcome Pariah have released an energy-packed double A-side in the form of ‘Angel at the Gate’ and ‘Endeavour’. The band’s return marks a darker rebirth and greater definition, with complex melodies, stadium-demanding boldness and the flight of Doves.

Produced in some mysterious otherworld, is the journey that is ‘Angel at the Gate’. and it’s one filled with majestic guitars divulging in moments of harmony, as well as instances of war. Every aspect of the instrumental delivery rivals the next. Aggressive and slightly seedy from the outset, the track is immersed within itself – a shell of rock angst, euphoria and everything in between. Masterful.

With ‘Endeavour’, Welcome Pariah continue to immerse the listener into the very core of the song, once again providing a refuge driven by an intricate arrangement of distorted Pink Floydian guitar work and a steady, yet striking vocal. A heavy form of intoxication, this part of the double A-side release is impeccable – an all-consuming cadence of punchy alt rhythm, with undertones of space rock dreaminess.

And while the songs are constricted within themselves, they prove to be absolutely liberating from the outside world. The band is somewhat of an enigma, creating vivid impressions of trials and tribulations that are yours, mine, and theirs. With coarsely layered rhythm structures that remain fluid and easy to listen to, effortless songwriting, and something new to put on the table, the Southampton group is quickly proving to be one of England’s most powerful rising acts.
